Privacy & Disclaimer

Last updated: June 2026

Rackling is a free, browser-based tool for planning 10-inch homelab racks. We've tried to keep it as privacy-respecting as possible: there are no user accounts, and the tool works almost entirely inside your own browser.

What stays on your device

Your rack builds — the gear you place, labels, custom items, and your electricity rate — are saved in your browser's local storage so the page restores your work on refresh. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it. Clicking Share encodes your build into a link (the data lives in the link itself, not on a server); anyone you give that link to can rebuild your layout.

The feedback form

If you submit feedback, the message you type — and the email address you optionally provide — is sent to our issue tracker so we can read and respond. Email is optional and only used to reply to you. A Cloudflare Turnstile challenge protects the form from spam; it is privacy-focused and does not track you across sites.

Hosting & analytics

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and collects only aggregate, anonymous usage stats (page views, referrers, device type). We do not use advertising trackers, and we don't sell or share your data.

Third-party links & images

Product photos and "buy" links point to manufacturer and retailer websites (DeskPi, Ubiquiti, Raspberry Pi, and others). When those load, your browser contacts those third parties directly, subject to their own privacy policies.

Affiliation disclaimer

Rackling is an independent planning tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with DeskPi, Ubiquiti, Raspberry Pi Ltd, NVIDIA, Jeff Geerling, or any other company or person whose products or builds are referenced. All product names, logos, trademarks, specifications, and prices are the property of their respective owners and are shown purely for planning convenience. Prices and specs are approximate, may be out of date, and should always be confirmed with the retailer before purchasing. Template builds described as "inspired by" a creator's work are our own adaptations using available catalog items.
